Looks like the panel may have a non-user fixable convergence issue (the red panel is misaligned). You might want to ask Epson about this problem and see if they agree.

Some of Sony's WEGA model RP LCD displays had this issue. From what you described and the pictures you posted, I'm guessing it's the same problem that you have.

Can't comment on the $ to fix it, though. Did you "aquire" it for free? If not, were you told about the problem?
