A bunch of battle hardened grunts in June 1944 were about as likely to come up with the kind of dialog in "Ryan" as fly to the moon.
Gary Ribisi's pukey monolog in the church would've been punctuated by some NJ conscript beating him over the skull with his own helmet, with no shortage of 4 letter words describing his origins and that of his mother ...
Spielberg once again shows he can adequately research locations, vehicles, uniforms and equipment in minutae, and STILL klutz it all up
I swear he must sit through previews of his films watching the audience and laughing his ass off
He'd make a great cab driver
