The young woman and the man played their roles with no attempts at audience ingratiation, no endearing superficial qualities. I confess to 2X my way through several scenes which went on too long and the subject matter of which was very depressing and dark.
Terrible situation at home, terrible one awaiting the immigrant seeking a better life in a 1st world developed country.
Sometimes, it is uplifting to see the misery of others and realize your situation in life isn't all that bad.
