Re: dvd sound

I have the same results from my combi DVD/SACD/CD changer. Using strickly the analog outputs, when playing cds, stereo or multichannel SACDs, the player outputs at a certain level.

But when playing a movie track though the built in DD/DTS decoders, the L/R output is reduced. I assume this is due to the decoding circuits.

There may be some level adjustments in your player's audio setup menu, but I know mine (Sony DVP650) only allows level adjustment of the secondary channels.

I don't use the digital output, so can't comment on that.
