Hi beppe61,Welcome to the Asylum.
\\\1) which of the two (-RW or +RW) format is better?/// I’m not convinced it makes much difference.
With the introduction of multi-read drives it is certainly becoming LESS problematic.\\\2) is the internal hard disk option fundamental?/// The short answer is no, it is not fundamental. However, I use a hard-drive DVD recorder and it is so much more convenient and versatile than just a DVD disc recorder.
The new model DVD recorders will write and read BOTH +/- DVD-R/RW disc types.
I personally would not buy a DVD recorder without a hard drive. I will be buying a second DVD hard-drive recorder shortly.
Good luck
