The ad said a minimum of 10 players in the stores. There have been several reports that some of the larger stores had 50 or so (I don't know how accurate they are though). Since yours was dated August, I'm guessing that they made a big batch, of unknown size, just for Wally World. Hell, if they can sell 50K or so in one day, that will make a big difference, if nothing else, then just to show price counts. The repercussions are already happening involving the price of the A3. Not to mention the average attach rate is about 4 for HD DVD players. I'm sure Sony execs have stocked up on Pampers over the weekend. :-)
