Arabs and Jews have been at each other for my entire life. In fact, they've been at each other for at least a couple of thousand years. Given the current status of their relationship, I doubt if they'll decide to be nice to each other in my lifetime. As a result, I don't get too worked up over their ongoing feud. Fundamentally, it's a religious war over religious "sacred ground". Interestingly, the leadership of both sides live in luxury and dine at 5-star restaurants and stay at 5-star hotels while they "negotiate" the future of the townsfolk. Makes me long for the days when the leader would lead his army into battle, rather than hide in some well-guarded location and surrounded by "staff".
In some respects, the HAMAS-Israel war is similar to the Protestants and the Catholics in Ireland. That was a big deal in the 70s - maybe before and maybe after, but in any case, we don't hear about it daily anymore, thank goodness. I wish it were the same with the current HAMAS-Israel war - duke it out between yourselves, and maybe let me know who wins this round, and news of the release of ALL of the hostages brutally taken on October 7, 2023, unharmed. Beyond that, I've got other things in my life besides getting the daily blow-by-blow (ditto for the incessant Trump trial "updates").
Ok, I've got to finish trimming this rose bush before it starts raining. And then I gotta get the steak on the grill for my beef stroganoff tonight.
