Anybody out there agree that Pal DVD quality stinks....
I live in the uk and the quality of pressings compared to USA(region 1)are vastly inferior.
The PAL disks seem to have "cartoon" type colours and "fatiguing contrast ratios".The pictures on PAL disks have hardly any depth and the sound is rubbish.I have been into AV for over 15 years and have Laserdisk players and also Elite DVD players.The best PAL player here in the uk also gives cheap results,Its ass if the Pal disks have skimped on some mastering process.
We do have more lines of resolution but for the part i cannot see them being put to use here in the UK.
You also get hardly any extras unless they delibratly hold the film back so a "special edition" can come out.As for prices the Pal disks are outrageously high,$30+.
