As I watch them as they come, I basically though have to agree with your conclusions - that Hollywood simply is not equipped to make good films. All its production seems to be very professionally done fast food.Regarding the star culture... there has always been plenty in Europe, but perhaps you are right, and they had done it more subtly. Here it is in your face. And speaking of "stars" - for the life of me I can't imagine a European Tom Cruise - there is something undeniably low life that can only be found in the US trailer parks about that shmuck.
But now... about that Brazilian beauty...
