One film that should be left alone...

I admire Jackson for what he did with LOTR (even if I did find them boring), but some films should never be remade.

King Kong is most certainly one of them.

KK is one of those really innovative films that transcends time. I saw it when I was 5-6 and it scared the crap out of me. 2 years later, I was dragged to see the pathetic remake and I laughed through it. How could one not laugh at such a piece of shit.

If Jackson wanted to do us a favor, he would spend the money cleaning up the original print, especially the sound which sounds iffy on my Criterion LD, and help relaunch it for the generations of moviegoers who never saw it.

I'd be first in line to see that.
