Our Summer book discussion group reads books and stories that were made into films. So we discuss both the story and the film at our meetings. First up is Stephen Speilberg's "Minority Report" starring Tom Cuise and based on the short story by Phillip K. Dick.
The film greatly expands on the short story and is a unique blend of an action movie and a mystery whodunnit. Cruise is excellent as the protagon9st on the run who is accused of planning a murder, the first in Washington, D>C. in six years. The city was rthe first to develop the pre-crime technology and the nation is about to adapt it.
This is one of Speilberg's best.
