"8 Oct 1941 - FDR ordered US vessels to shoot German vessels on sight."FDR wanted war. The lend-lease arrangement was instigated so that America would *not* be seen by the Axis powers as neutral. Many historians now believe Japan was suckered into doing Pearl Harbor. Germany followed their partner, as was to be expected.
Remember the Lusitania? All those poor passengers died -- because our President had authorized the ship to carry ammo in the hold, "secretly". But... the enemy knew...
So America initiated hostilities. Why are you so surprised, so indignant?
