"Just 'cause it's bigger doesn't make it better."

I agree in general. In fact the director's cuts of "Blood Simple" and "Tom Jones" are SHORTER than their theatrical release versions. On the other hand I think that the longer versions of both "Apocalypse Now" and "Cinema Paradiso" improve the fims although I recognize that I am in the minority here.
