bla dee bla... well my Dad worked at Mullard and thanks to him I might know a little bit more about the subject than you do, as he used to tell me tales of how stuff died under load, and how GEC was unbeatable.
Even in a giant size concern like Philips/Mullard in the 60s, quality control was a big problem.
And you know what exactly??
Oh, that you are scared you might get a dud valve from JJ or they routinely send the wrong stuff out, or it doesn't last more than a couple of years?
Says it all really.
Loads of sub standard stuff goes out the door in this so called superior, hi tech computer controlled age, all the stuff which were plain production rejects years ago.
When was the last time you heard of a Mullard, Brimar or Sylvania or Westinghouse valve being a dud from their factories, sometimes even 50-60 years old?
