RE: My review of the new JJ frame grid E83CC tube

Very cool! Glad to hear it sounds like you're having similar good results. You're the first person I've heard from that has and is using the new tube. My original tube is performing flawlessly and sounding great still and I agree its right there with most of the vintage stuff as far as tone goes. I've got at least double the time on mine since my first review post. I wasn't really a fan of JJ tubes for the most part, but decided to give this one shot once I heard about it's release and very glad I did. I was hesitant to say such a bold statement early on that it might be the best new production 12ax7 tube going, but the more I listen to mine and compare it against other tubes the more I'm believing it might be so. However as far as new production 12ax7 tubes go I'll stick with the Sovtek 12ax7LPS on phase inverter duties. I received my replacement tube yesterday to replace the dud I got and it's testing even better than my first really good one. Nice NOS readings and tightly matched triodes again. 1800/1850 Gm with 1.4 Ip on both sides on my Hickok 539c. Very nice numbers indeed.
