RE:results of inventory

After writing some powershell code to inventory music files on ALL the physical drives currently connected to my computer, here are some numbers.

About 50 lines of powershell code to do the job (not counting a generalized function that inserts the data for each music file into a Sql Server DB). And I ignore very small sound files (found in game folders, etc)

The situation is not as bad as I thought because on the big 8tb drive there are also a lot of movies and games which I had not recalled were there.

A little over 6,750 folders containing music on 8 volumes in 6 physical drives.

Total music files (songs) = 79801 (not deduped)

Drive Letter Folders MusicSizeGBOnDrive
-----------------------------------------------------------
\\.\PHYSICALDRIVE2 F: 312 140
\\.\PHYSICALDRIVE1 N: 652 205
\\.\PHYSICALDRIVE6 P: 1153 500
\\.\PHYSICALDRIVE3 I: 74 16
\\.\PHYSICALDRIVE4 H: 3 1
\\.\PHYSICALDRIVE0 E: 4531 1700
\\.\PHYSICALDRIVE5 C: 20 2
\\.\PHYSICALDRIVE2 G: 30 8

These are NOT deduped. I ran a query to group by FolderName and the deduping brings the total size of the music files down to about 1.6 tb

MUCH easier to deal with.

But a ways to go before I have a method to programmatically reorganize...
